Surprisingly, The New Solution Makes DVDs More Green Than Ever For Consumers: Flex-Lite Discs Use 50% Less Plastic, Eco-Friendly Bonders, And Offer a 70% Reduction Less Carbon Footprint.
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) September 5, 2008 — ProAction Media introduced their brand new 100% recyclable Flex-Lite Media disc this week. This revolutionary new material is entirely flexible, and offers consumers a green alternative to traditional media discs. The new Flex-Lite discs are created with 50% less plastic and eco-friendly bonders are used during the manufacturing process.
Unlike traditional DVD media, the new Flex-Lite disc is lightweight and flexible. ProAction Media designed this disc to be consumer friendly, offering unmatched durability. These discs are made to survive the rigors of shipping, and can withstand even the harshest treatment. This amazing new eco-friendly material is also so lightweight that shipping costs are dramatically reduced.
Shannon Neal, COO of ProAction Media commented, “The new Flex-Lite disc material exceeds traditional DVDs in every facet. They offer a reduction of more than 50% in overall weight, and yet there is no change in the cost to manufacture the discs. Add to this the fact that only light weight protection packaging is needed and the carbon footprint for DVD replication drops sharply. Unlike many green alternatives, with the new Flex-Lite disc material, consumers don’t have to sacrifice price, quality or usability, just to be eco-friendly.”
In a further commitment to the environment, ProAction media is also offering their customers eco-friendly mailers made with soy-based ink and recycled fibers. Thanks to the company’s efforts, it has never been easier to stay eco-friendly and still save money.
Neal added, “We are very excited about the Flex-Lite disc and look forward to providing our customers with a viable alternative that is not only safe for the planet, but easier to use and much more cost effective when compared to traditional DVD media.”
About the Company: ProAction Media (www.proactionmedia.com) was founded six years ago to provide consumers with a comprehensive solution to their disc replication & duplication needs. They specialize in providing unique solutions, not only for DVD and CD materials, but also packaging and mailers. With over 17,000 customers, ProAction Media is quickly taking the lead in the replication & duplication industry.

Kickoff at Opening Game of the NFL with Halftime show featuring Steve Tisch, Jeff Zucker, and Stand Up To Cancer The New York Giants are getting into the publishing business, “with a cause,” to motivate men and their families to see their doctors and be proactive about their health. Time after time, research shows that communication between physician and patient is what impacts health outcome. The combination of the New York Giants’ strong fan base and Health Monitor Network’s expertise in health education provides a unique communications platform.
Paramus, NJ (PRWEB) September 4, 2008 — The New York Giants are getting into the publishing business, “with a cause,” to motivate men and their families to see their doctors and be proactive about their health. Time after time, research shows that communication between physician and patient is what impacts health outcome. The combination of the New York Giants’ strong fan base and Health Monitor Network’s expertise in health education provides a unique communications platform.
The quarterly magazine is called New York Giants Health Monitor and is launching on a grand scale. 1 million copies will be distributed to 10,000 doctors’ offices in the NY/ NJ area, to the homes of season ticket holders/customers on the waiting list, and also to 80,000 fans when they leave the stadium today.
New York Giants Health Monitor will feature a story on New York Giants center Shaun O’Hara’s sleep apnea, stay-healthy secrets from 42-year-old kicker Jeff Feagles, fitness tips from the coach, healthy tailgating tips, how to beat diabetes from former New York Giant Rodney Hampton’s mom, how to beat a beer belly, and much more.
“Men tend to have the ‘Superman’ mentality. The common belief is, ‘It can’t happen to me.’ Men tend to be reactionary in their health maintenance. A scary event that happens to a friend or family member can send them scurrying to the doctor,” says Ronnie Barnes, MD, VP of Medical Services and Athletic Trainer, New York Giants.
Men are typically pleasantly surprised when they get help. “I remember thinking, Who wants to sleep with a mask? But I don’t really care what I look like when I sleep. Once I got the treatment, I remember wishing that I had done it years earlier.” -Shaun O’Hara, Center, New York Giants.
“We are very pleased to partner with Health Monitor Network on this new venture,” said Mike Stevens, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, New York Giants. “The New York Giants are committed to the health and wellness of fans, their families, and our communities, and we hope that this magazine will help everyone lead healthier lives. Health Monitor Network’s publishing expertise and extensive physician office and in-home distribution makes them a perfect partner for this venture.”
“Men suffer from a plethora of diseases/conditions, but remain one of the hardest-to-reach groups when it comes to health,” said Kenneth Freirich, Executive Vice President, Health Monitor Network, “Partnering with the New York Giants, one of the top sports franchise in the New York area, will help solve this challenge by combining a unique blend of sports, health, and fitness content.”
Stand Up to Cancer with Steve Tisch
The New York Giants and Health Monitor Network incorporated “Cancer” as a theme and special section in the new publication. The two groups also partnered with Stand Up to Cancer, (SU2C) a new initiative that aims to rally the public around the goal of putting an end to cancer.
So many people are affected by cancer in some way, including New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch. On Nov. 15, 2005, Steve’s father and former Giants co-owner Preston R. Tisch lost his battle with brain cancer–a personal connection that has increased Mr. Tisch’s desire to support SU2C.
At today’s game, there will be a special halftime presentation featuring Stand Up To Cancer. During the festivities, a PSA will be aired and Steve Tisch will say a few words about his support for SU2C and the launch of the magazine. Jeff Zucker, President and CEO of NBC Universal, and John Harrington from sanofi-aventis will also say a few words. A feature article on SU2C in New York Giants Health Monitor will be highlighted, and fans will be encouraged to send in a donation card found in the magazine to contribute to SU2C.
Steve Tisch says, “With 100% of the donated funds going directly to groundbreaking cancer research with ‘Dream Teams’ of doctors, SU2C is poised to help bring cancer’s reign as a leading cause of death to an end.”
Sanofi-aventis heard about this opportunity and became a key advertiser in the cancer section of the magazine. “Sanofi-aventis is committed to cancer research and supporting patients and the oncology community. New York Giants Health Monitor takes a very unique approach to reaching men and their families. We are pleased to partner with Health Monitor Network and the New York Giants,” says John Harrington, VP Oncology Business Unit, sanofi-aventis.

Ipswich, MA (PRWEB) September 5, 2008 — Oceanview Publishing announces that “Stuff Dreams Are Made Of”, by award-winning novelist Don Bruns, has been selected by IndieBound as an Indie Next List Notable for October. IndieBound (www.indiebound.org) rallies passionate readers around a celebration of independent stores and independent thinking. Books designated as Indie Next List Notables represent the hottest up and coming handsells as selected by booksellers and independent bookstores nationwide.
The follow-up to the award-winning, critically-acclaimed “Stuff to Die For”, “Stuff Dreams Are Made Of” will be available nationwide on September 1, 2008. “Stuff Dreams Are Made Of “(Oceanview Publishing, ISBN: 978-1-933515-16-8, $24.95) heralds the return of James Lessor, Skip Moore, and their white box truck.
While their last venture was hardly crowned with success, James and a reluctant Skip are ready to try riding on the road to riches once again. When the Reverend Preston Cashdollar and his traveling tent revival come to town, James and Skip reinvent themselves–as holy rollers.
Rest assured: James and Skip aren’t seeking salvation; they’re seeking the Almighty dollar. After all, Cashdollar’s prosperity gospel draws thousands of people with open minds-and open wallets. With a few modifications to the truck, Less or Moore Catering is ready to roll, and the entrepreneurs are born again, intent on making a mint by selling meager meals to the hungry masses.
Once James and Skip become entrenched in the Cashdollar culture, they start to realize that this good reverend is nothing but bad news. Cashdollar may preach about seeing the light, but his organization has a dark side of greed, corruption, and murder.
What in the name of all that is holy have James and Skip gotten themselves into? What starts as a meals-on-wheels venture is about to turn into hell on wheels.
As James and Skip seek the truth, they’ll learn that the stuff dreams are made of may be their worst nightmare. They’ll either need to keep the faith, or run like the devil.
Don Bruns is an award-winning novelist, songwriter, musician and advertising executive. He and his wife, Linda, divide their time between Ohio and South Florida. Oceanview Publishing (www.oceanviewpub.com) is an independent book publisher headquartered in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) September 4, 2008 — Hampton Dellinger, former legal counsel to Governor Easley and a former Deputy Attorney General of North Carolina, has joined the recently established Chapel Hill office of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A. Dellinger, who finished second in the Democratic primary for Lt. Governor this past spring, will focus primarily on commercial litigation and regulatory issues with Robinson Bradshaw.
“Hampton worked with our firm years ago when he was in law school,” said Robinson Bradshaw managing partner Robert Griffin, “and we’ve kept in touch ever since. He’s a very talented lawyer, with expertise that will be helpful to our clients.”
Dellinger joins corporate attorney Jeffrey Hart, who moved to Chapel Hill this past summer from the firm’s Charlotte office. Hart’s practice focuses on venture capital and private equity transactions.
The addition of Dellinger and Hart reflects a growing Triangle presence for Robinson Bradshaw. “We have always worked with clients in the Triangle area, particularly on corporate matters,” Griffin said. “Our relationships in the area are such that having Triangle-based lawyers makes sense.”
“I have always admired Robinson Bradshaw’s sense of professionalism and commitment to client service,” said Dellinger, “and I am really happy that the firm’s expanding Triangle presence allows me to re-unite with exceptional attorneys who are also old friends. I’m proud to be part of this firm and excited about the opportunities.”
Dellinger received his J.D. in 1993 from Yale University where he served as a senior editor on the Yale Law Journal and his B.A., with high honors, from the University of Michigan in 1989.
